Find your Hammerklavier
*Hello Favs (squad)*
World class pianist, Yuja Wang met her challenge and climbed her mountain in 2016 playing Beethoven’s Hammerklavier piano sonata at Carnegie Hall. If you have 50 minutes to watch the video here, it’s worthy of your time.
Where does creativity and talent like that come from? My belief is, that if there is a God, a Source Reality, then our creative spark must be linked to that God Source.
I remember when I first believed in God. It was when I heard Beethoven's music played. I felt it was “perfect” so “perfect” to my ear that it must have been God coming through him (Beethoven) to guide him to that perfection. I was young and it was an awakening moment.
Still today, I am moved by the tension and beauty of Beethoven’s music. I feel closer to God Source and my own creativity when I listen to it and on occasion attempt to play it. There are other ways I commune with God Source, but through Beethoven’s music I can feel the connection quickly.
I have also felt that “God spark” move though me in my own creative work. It is a beautiful feeling, and as I grow with it, there is also tension. For example, I ask myself, will it happen again? Can I get in the art zone again? Will I ever feel, hear, sense, that connection with Source in my own personal work again? I guess the question of it “fleeting” is what I call “tension.”
Do you know what I am talking about? Some of you have told me you feel this connection in nature, some of you have described this sensation reading poetry, or The Bible and other sacred texts. Some of you have heard the words of God Source come “through you” and you then translate it into problem solving, or a story, or into a song. Only later to say “I have no idea where that came from.”
So what was your mountain you climbed this year? What’s your Hammerklavier? Or what do you want to work towards next year?
Share with me your thoughts, I would love to hear them. Tell me how you connect with your creative self, do you think it resides inside of you? Or does it come from an outside source? Or a combination of the two?
As we near the end of 2017 I want to give a heart felt “thank you” to the following. I couldn’t imagine my life without you.
...beauty and tension,
XoXo Tal
